Worth knowing
- A lot of kilometres: 400,000 km, about 1.3 times what a 21-year-old car usually has. Ask for the service history, and when the timing belt and clutch were last done.
- 78,000 km more than similar cars for sale, which have about 322,000 km.
- An older car: 21 years old. Cars over ten years need an NCT every year, and repairs and parts weigh more in what it costs to keep.
- The NCT ran out in March 2021. Ask whether it has been tested since.
Why we say so
8 BMW X5s from 2004 to 2006, diesel, automatic are for sale now. Most ask €3,240 to €5,000, with about 322,000 km on the clock. This one is cheaper than 2 of the 8, near the top. The market price above also allows for its exact year and mileage.
