Worth knowing
- A lot of kilometres: 330,000 km, about 1.3 times what a 17-year-old car usually has. Ask for the service history, and when the timing belt and clutch were last done.
- An older car: 17 years old. Cars over ten years need an NCT every year, and repairs and parts weigh more in what it costs to keep.
Why we say so
36 BMW 5 Series from 2008 to 2010, diesel, manual are for sale now. Most ask €2,340 to €4,810, with about 312,000 km on the clock. This one is cheaper than 23 of the 36. The market price above also allows for its exact year and mileage.
