Worth knowing
- A lot of kilometres: 320,000 km, about 1.3 times what a 17-year-old car usually has. Ask for the service history, and when the timing belt and clutch were last done.
- 20,000 km more than similar cars for sale, which have about 300,000 km.
- An older car: 17 years old. Cars over ten years need an NCT every year, and repairs and parts weigh more in what it costs to keep.
- The NCT runs out in January 2027: budget for the test and any repairs it asks for.
Why we say so
79 Volkswagen Passats from 2008 to 2010, diesel, manual are for sale now. Most ask €1,520 to €2,950, with about 300,000 km on the clock. This one is cheaper than 59 of the 79. The market price above also allows for its exact year and mileage.
