Worth knowing
- Above-average kilometres: 233,000 km, high whatever its age. Ask for the service history, and when the timing belt and clutch were last done.
- An older car: 18 years old. Cars over ten years need an NCT every year, and repairs and parts weigh more in what it costs to keep.
Why we say so
49 Volkswagen Golfs from 2007 to 2009, petrol, manual are for sale now. Most ask €1,650 to €2,750, with about 233,000 km on the clock. This one is cheaper than 12 of the 49, near the top. The market price above also allows for its exact year and mileage.
