Golf mk5 black

Worth knowing

• Above-average kilometres: 200,000 km, high whatever its age. Ask for the service history, and when the timing belt and clutch were last done.
• 36,000 km fewer than similar cars for sale, which have about 236,000 km.
• An older car: 19 years old. Cars over ten years need an NCT every year, and repairs and parts weigh more in what it costs to keep.

Why we say so

50 Volkswagen Golfs from 2006 to 2008, petrol, manual are for sale now. Most ask €1,460 to €2,580, with about 236,000 km on the clock. This one is cheaper than 30 of the 50. The market price above also allows for its exact year and mileage.
