Worth knowing
- A lot of kilometres: 270,000 km, high whatever its age. Ask for the service history, and when the timing belt and clutch were last done.
- 58,000 km more than similar cars for sale, which have about 212,000 km.
- An older car: 21 years old. Cars over ten years need an NCT every year, and repairs and parts weigh more in what it costs to keep.
- The NCT runs out in January 2027: budget for the test and any repairs it asks for.
Why we say so
20 Volkswagen Golfs from 2004 to 2006, petrol, manual are for sale now. Most ask €1,020 to €2,360, with about 212,000 km on the clock. This one is cheaper than 10 of the 20. The market price above also allows for its exact year and mileage.
