Renault Clio Grand 1.5 dCi (2011)

Worth knowing

• A lot of kilometres: 360,000 km, about 1.6 times what a 15-year-old car usually has. Ask for the service history, and when the timing belt and clutch were last done.
• 135,000 km more than similar cars for sale, which have about 225,000 km.
• An older car: 15 years old. Cars over ten years need an NCT every year, and repairs and parts weigh more in what it costs to keep.

Why we say so

9 Renault Clios from 2010 to 2012, diesel, manual are for sale now. Most ask €1,700 to €3,000, with about 225,000 km on the clock. This one is cheaper than 7 of the 9, near the bottom of the range. The market price above also allows for its exact year and mileage.
