BMW 3 Series

Worth knowing

• A lot of kilometres: 434,066 km, about 1.6 times what a 18-year-old car usually has. Ask for the service history, and when the timing belt and clutch were last done.
• 157,000 km more than similar cars for sale, which have about 278,000 km.
• An older car: 18 years old. Cars over ten years need an NCT every year, and repairs and parts weigh more in what it costs to keep.
• The NCT runs out in January 2027: budget for the test and any repairs it asks for.

Why we say so

24 BMW 3 Series from 2007 to 2009, diesel, manual are for sale now. Most ask €2,690 to €4,590, with about 278,000 km on the clock. This one is cheaper than 19 of the 24, near the bottom of the range. The market price above also allows for its exact year and mileage.
