Volkswagen Polo 2009

Worth knowing

• A lot of kilometres: 323,390 km, about 1.3 times what a 17-year-old car usually has. Ask for the service history, and when the timing belt and clutch were last done.
• 86,000 km more than similar cars for sale, which have about 237,000 km.
• An older car: 17 years old. Cars over ten years need an NCT every year, and repairs and parts weigh more in what it costs to keep.

Why we say so

19 Volkswagen Polos from 2008 to 2010, diesel, manual are for sale now. Most ask €2,000 to €3,720, with about 237,000 km on the clock. This one is cheaper than 18 of the 19, near the bottom of the range. The market price above also allows for its exact year and mileage.
