Volkswagen Passat 2010

Worth knowing

• Above-average kilometres: 236,000 km, high whatever its age. Ask for the service history, and when the timing belt and clutch were last done.
• 71,000 km fewer than similar cars for sale, which have about 307,000 km.
• An older car: 16 years old. Cars over ten years need an NCT every year, and repairs and parts weigh more in what it costs to keep.

Why we say so

121 Volkswagen Passats from 2009 to 2011, diesel, manual are for sale now. Most ask €2,100 to €3,300, with about 307,000 km on the clock. This one is cheaper than 100 of the 121, near the bottom of the range. The market price above also allows for its exact year and mileage.
