Volkswagen Jetta

Worth knowing

• A lot of kilometres: 320,918 km, about 1.2 times what a 18-year-old car usually has. Ask for the service history, and when the timing belt and clutch were last done.
• 30,000 km more than similar cars for sale, which have about 291,000 km.
• An older car: 18 years old. Cars over ten years need an NCT every year, and repairs and parts weigh more in what it costs to keep.
• The NCT ran out in November 2022. Ask whether it has been tested since.
