2010 Volkswagen Golf

Worth knowing

• A lot of kilometres: 330,500 km, about 1.4 times what a 16-year-old car usually has. Ask for the service history, and when the timing belt and clutch were last done.
• 52,000 km more than similar cars for sale, which have about 279,000 km.
• An older car: 16 years old. Cars over ten years need an NCT every year, and repairs and parts weigh more in what it costs to keep.

Why we say so

175 Volkswagen Golfs from 2009 to 2011, diesel are for sale now. Most ask €2,900 to €4,250, with about 279,000 km on the clock. This one is cheaper than 136 of the 175, near the bottom of the range. The market price above also allows for its exact year and mileage.
