Volkswagen Golf

Worth knowing

• Above-average kilometres: 218,000 km, high whatever its age. Ask for the service history, and when the timing belt and clutch were last done.
• 98,000 km more than similar cars for sale, which have about 120,000 km.
• An older car: 17 years old. Cars over ten years need an NCT every year, and repairs and parts weigh more in what it costs to keep.

Why we say so

12 Volkswagen Golfs from 2008 to 2010, petrol, automatic are for sale now. Most ask €5,040 to €13,000, with about 120,000 km on the clock. This one is cheaper than 12 of the 12, near the bottom of the range. The market price above also allows for its exact year and mileage.
