2009 Volkswagen Golf

Worth knowing

• A lot of kilometres: 364,219 km, about 1.4 times what a 17-year-old car usually has. Ask for the service history, and when the timing belt and clutch were last done.
• 81,000 km more than similar cars for sale, which have about 284,000 km.
• An older car: 17 years old. Cars over ten years need an NCT every year, and repairs and parts weigh more in what it costs to keep.

Why we say so

123 Volkswagen Golfs from 2008 to 2010, diesel are for sale now. Most ask €2,050 to €3,800, with about 284,000 km on the clock. This one is cheaper than 88 of the 123. The market price above also allows for its exact year and mileage.
