Car

Worth knowing

• A lot of kilometres: 271,978 km, high whatever its age. Ask for the service history, and when the timing belt and clutch were last done.
• 35,000 km more than similar cars for sale, which have about 237,000 km.
• An older car: 25 years old. Cars over ten years need an NCT every year, and repairs and parts weigh more in what it costs to keep.
• The NCT ran out in November 2023. Ask whether it has been tested since.

Why we say so

6 Toyota Corollas from 2000 to 2002, petrol, manual are for sale now. Most ask €2,050 to €3,920, with about 237,000 km on the clock. This one is cheaper than 5 of the 6, near the bottom of the range. The market price above also allows for its exact year and mileage.
